Youth Basketball League - Winter 2025

Registration will open September 1 through November 1. The recreational basketball league is open to boys and girls ages 4 to 11 years old, regardless of skill level or years of experience. The season will consist of an 8-game season, with team formations at the mid-November and games starting January 4. Teams will be scheduled two, 1-hour practices on weeknights, with games scheduled on Saturdays through March 1.  

Age Divisions: Age is determined by the participant’s age on September 1 of the current school year. (9/1/24)

Volunteer coaches are essential to make the league a success. If you or anyone in your family is interested in coaching a team, use the volunteer button below, after you register your player to sign up as a Head Coach or Assistant Coach.   

Frequently Asked Questions
  • When will I find out my child's team?: You will receive a call or email from your child's coach on or before Saturday, November 17.
  • How are the basketball teams formed?: The 5U age division will be formed randomly. The 7U-11U year old age divisions will be formed through a draft process. All players will be assigned to a team regardless of skill level & experience.
  • Where can I find the Draft Rules?: The Youth Bylaws, Constitution, and Draft Rules & Process can be found online at https://marblefallsrecreation.com/content/13925/Parent-Resources
  • Can I make a team request?: Request to play with a friend or a coach are only allowed in the 5U division. Teams in the older divisions are formed by a draft; therefore, requests are not allowed.
  • Coach Look Information: Location: Marble Falls Middle School Gym. Girls: November 12 Boys: November 11 5U - No Coach Look 7U - 6:00 PM 9U - 7:00 PM 11U - 8:00 PM
  • What is Coach Look?: Coach Look is an opportunity for coaches to put a name and a face with players. At Coach Look, players will participate in basic basketball drills and fun games.
  • When will practices start?: Practices will start the week of November 18-22.
  • Where are the practice locations?: Practices are at the local Marble Falls ISD campuses on Monday/Wednesday or Tuesday/Friday.
  • What are the practice times?: Practices for 5U are 5:30-6:30 or 6:30-7:30pm. The 7U-9U practices will be 6:00-7:00 or 7:00-8:00pm. 11U practices will be 7:00-8:00 and 8:00-9:00pm due to limited facility practice space & growth.
  • When will games start?: Games are scheduled to start Saturday, January 11 and will conclude no later than Saturday, March 1. *This could be extended if the high school teams are in the playoffs.*
  • Will basketballs be provided?: The league will provide a limited number of basketballs for each team to use for practices. Participants can bring your own personal basketball for practices. The league will provide game balls.
  • What equipment will I need to provide?: The league will provide a reversible jersey for games.
  • What size basketball does my child need?: 5U Boys & Girls: Size 27.5 7U Boys: Size 28.5 7U Girls: Size 27.5 9U Boys: Size 28.5 9U Girls: Size 27.5 11U Boys: Size 29.5 11U Girls: Size 28.5
  • Is jewelry allowed?: No, we ask that all players remove jewelry for games and practices. Taping of earrings is not permitted in the league.
  • How do I sign up to be a volunteer?: If you or a member of your family is interested in coaching, please register online by clicking on the VOLUNTEER link under the registration portal.
